Then we went to Makan Sutra for supper! The mee goreng was so fantastic we ordered another serving. The satays were okay, nothing impressive. However, the hokkien mee had a fishy smell! I only took a mouthful of that horrible hokkien mee.

I shall sit by my letterbox and wait for a letter of acceptance from any local university. Please.

Food Trip

I went on a little food trip with a friend on 25 Feb! Just sharing in case you missed the happenings on my Twitter here.

Chicken, regular pork and spicy pork sausages from Erich's Wuerstelstand. We also had smoked pork with cheese! Pretty good stuff.

I'm disappointed because he isn't all smiley like on newspaper articles. He pulled a grumpy face.

Then we had Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Sigh, I can't differentiate if it is bak kut teh or pepper soup.

Rum and Raisin, Lychee Martini from Haato & Co! The ice cream is so chill~ Cool stuff! The alcohol content was just right and the aroma from the waffle was irresistible! Thumbs up! Haato & Co is conveniently located at Clarke Quay.

Is he suggesting that Singaporeans are less competent? Are we given a fair chance to begin with?

This man spoke my mind.

I understand that foreign talents compensate the growing population but have you ever wondered what causes the low birth rate?

Here's my point of view.

I will never have a kid.

1. Living cost is skyrocket.

2. Education is ridiculously competitive.

Kindergarden tuition, anyone? I wonder if Math tuition is still existent. I see Math Olympiad tuition centres. There's one 10 metres away from my house.

Students no longer attend tuition because they are weak. Parents want them to perfect their grades.

3. My kid is likely to study abroad and never return.

It is that easy to fall through the crack. I'm threading on a thin line with a B+.

You may say I'm dumb for not taking the JC route. Perhaps I didn't work hard enough. Well, all I can say is I'm born Asian, now Bsian.

Need I say more?

I'm Singaporean, try and deport me. You already did, with policies that favor foreign talents. So stop complaining about brain drain because we are not given a chance.

Hold on, are we even considered "brain"? I don't think so because according to your statement, most Singaporeans have no merit!

For some reasons, I wish I am a foreign talent. A shame I am simply foreign to talent.

I'm back in the atmosphere!

I know I've missed a lot - social media week, this and that. Unfortunately, I will miss out more despite yesterday marking the end of my poly school days.

I'll be busy with work starting next week. Yes, it's my first full time job! Fret not, I will continue to update my blog.

This sums up my 3 years (6 semesters) in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

A shame I ended up as a Bsian. I really hope I get a chance in the local university.

I feel like I'm walking a fine line. Tell me only if it's real. B+ can't even secure me a place in the local university.

Anyway, what's done is done. Here's my plan for the next 6 months.

1. Make a truckload of money.

Who am I kidding with the high living expenses?

2. Get fit.

I know what to do, I know how to do, but I'm lazy to do. LOL.

3. Sleep early.

Weight gain is inevitable with late nights and stress. Heck, my complexion wasn't spared too. I used to go to school without makeup but things are different now. I need my beauty sleep. There is no excuse for sleeping late now.

Who am I kidding? It's 2.14 am now. Goodnight, I shall post more soon.

So let's set the world on fire. We can burn brighter than the sun.

I hosted the concert with a fellow trumpeter as we couldn't perform due to other commitments.

It was great to host a concert with familiar faces. I guess this is a good way to end my journey with NPCB.

I have never seen a concert emcee without script and I'm not surprised. Who can memorise the history behind all pieces and people to thank? I only got the script 2 days prior to the concert during my project deadline week.

I wore a bare back dress and 5 inch heels.

See how happy Mr Tan was! He's a great conductor and I really admire his patience.

Final Year Project

It's been long since I blog about my personal life! The last time I did was X months ago on my Tumblr before I moved here 1 month ago.

For those who are unaware, I'm in my final semester in Ngee Ann Poly, School of Business and Accountancy, Tourism and Resort Management. I look mature but I'm only 19!

4 months ago, we got our Final Year Project (FYP) from Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on how to improve the low visitation rate in Little India. It was a tough assignment because Little India is intangible as compared to Tung Lok Group and Peninsular Excelsior Hotel's Coleman's Cafe.

We visited Little India countless times from October to January, conducted surveys and spoke to the place manager, LISHA (Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association). Deepavali street light up was in October and I thought I could bribe the goat with grass for some tips during Pongal which occurred in January.

Anyway, we finally submitted our 8000 words report and did our presentation at Peninsular Excelsior Hotel last Friday on 3 Feb. We were super kiasu and we met at 7.30 am for breakfast at Funan when presentations start at 9 am.

I have a kickass team. They are the people I have been hanging out with since year 1. We've been through many camps and overseas trip to China, Thailand and Malaysia. I have no idea why we still laugh at each others' senseless jokes after 3 years. True enough, stupidity is contagious.

Below are some screen shots from our 70 slides presentation.

We were the second team to present so we could enjoy tea and lunch at peace. We were super well fed! Cream puff and spring rolls for tea in the morning, Coleman's Cafe lunch buffet, followed by eclairs and chicken wings for tea in the evening.

Lo hei was offered on the buffet line and we decided to make a mess. We had 2 lo hei with different groups of people and for some reasons, my chopsticks ended up on the plate. That's how aggressive they were for the second lo hei.

You know how tough it is to stay awake after a heavy lunch and we had to stay throughout the presentations. Each group has an hour to present and for question and answer. I ended up drawing Herpy Derp. Derp added on to my drawing during the tea break. Hi, I'm Derpina.

YJ: "I say 1 2 3, you pull his ear!". YJ's team, you know what went wrong if your team didn't get an A. Mr Loh tutors the other class.

This is the art of trolling! Dr Chiam is the real pro who never fails to make anyone laugh during his class yet convey his teachings clearing. Heck yeah, we cleared the test today!

My tutors are aware of my online presence but it's okay so long as I'm still Ms Ng's fave bimbo! I hope they are reading this. I can no other answer make but thanks and thanks for all your guidance. Some of you taught me in the earlier years but 一日为师，终身为父。I love you all!

Alas, the presentations finally ended at 6pm and we went to Timbre at the Substation! I have no idea why the usuals fancy Erdinger. It's bitter! I ordered Long Island Tea. We shared 2 pizzas and spaghetti. Played some drinking games to finish the beer before leaving for Rocher tau huay. Josh spotted us while we were walking towards Rocher from Timbre.

We laughed so hard we ran out of breath. This is better than exercise. I'm sure I have abs now.

Our graduation ceremony would be held in March and I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad. I'm sure we will keep in touch but I hate separations. I guess everyone have to move on with life eventually but... yeah.

I have submitted my university applications and I feel like I'm walking on a thin line. I may fall under the brain drain category if I don't get a chance in the local universities. Singapore, you will regret this!

Well, I should fret over my exams now. My last paper falls on 23 Feb then I will be free for 6 months! It's time to look for a job!

Hayden Boutique Fashion Showcase for CREEED

I'm sure most of you are well aware of Hayden Boutique through countless press release. Hayden has been dressing Miss Universe Singapore since 1987 when Marion came in Top 10 on world stage. The National Costume he created for Miss Universe Singapore 2011 came in Top 15. He also dresses celebrities like Stephanie Sun and Mediacorp artistes like Patricia Mok.

This April, Hayden will be doing a fashion showcase for a non-profit organisation - CREEED.

CREEED (Creative Expressions Empowering Dreams) helps marginalised women realise their talents through programs designed to foster creative development. Economically or socially disadvantaged women in Singapore are the target recipients of CREEED's activities.

I'm not a huge fan of essence of chicken despite its health benefits because they smell funny. I remember I pinching my nose while gulping down Brand's essence of chicken in my younger days.

CNY is great with all the food and laughter but I am pissed because I can't fit into the only dress I bought online. Should I blame it on my broad shoulders or myself for being last minute?

What can I say? Lack of sleep contributed to weight gain. The bak kwa and pineapple tarts I've ate these two days are of great help too.

My cousin said he is leaving for New York University this August. There is no justice. He is 366 days older than me but we are a world of difference. He has no issue getting into all local universities' business course but he wants a new view.

I'm a terrible underachiever.

Alright, I'm off for dinner with my paternal family! I'm glad there's no awkward silence or silly questions to be answered. Long live the Angs!

Rondeau means "to return" in French. Indeed, I will return to Ngee Ann Concert Band (NPCB) as an emcee. I guess this is a good way to end my journey with NPCB as a student even though I really miss playing music with them.

I spent a short 1.5 years with NPCB and I will never forget the friendships forged, the fun we had, everything.

NPCB holds 2 main concerts annually, along with other performances and competition. Unfortunately, I am unable to commit thus I dropped out.

My first concert with NPCB was in July 2009 in my freshman year. Ripieno which means "all together" in Italian, was a sell out concert at Victoria Concert Hall.

DIY Cocktails

There we were at The Studio Bar DIY Cocktail Launch on 04 Jan 2012 with thanks to Smith. It's a lovely place to chill out - brightly lit and cosy.

Cocktails have always been an obsession for the team at The Studio Bar and they cater to customers' taste buds.

Below are some of The Studio Bar's signature cocktails.

The Landlord

The Gardener caught my eyes because it is served from a teapot. It is refreshingly funky with a blend of Basil and Hendrick's Gin.

The Tiramisu tastes just like its original cake!

Room Mate is a delightful creamy offering of Greygoose, strawberry and cheese.

An Autumn Affair is sweetly blended with Baileys and chocolate.

Besides ordering cocktails from the menu like in every other bar, customers can learn mixing techniques straight from the bartender at an affordable price of $20 as compared to the usual international cocktails at $16. You can bomb the bartender with questions about cocktails too.

Some of them went to try the DIY cocktails.

Customers will be given a card that shows the concoctions of the cocktail so they can prepare it themselves to impress their friends at home parties.

Ta-da! Cosmopolitan tastes sweet with a tinge of lime.

Pretty sour indeed!

The DIY-ers were happy with their cocktails.

Some felt that Cosmopolitan would be better with more lime while some prefer Whiskey Sour with more sugar syrup. In any case, they are able to personalise the drink to their taste buds because they are the bartender.
All of them agreed the three-piece shaker was cold so kudos to all bartenders!

I like The Studio Bar's DIY cocktail concept because it engages customers unlike a normal bar where you order off the menu and that's all. It's interesting to know what goes into your cocktail and more fun to DIY.

The Studio Bar is a cool place to visit with your friends!

2011 has been a great year. All the media work from being a Miss Universe Singapore finalist to modeling to blogging... What else? Constant struggles with Final Year Project and my awesome mates.

How time flies! I'm turning 20 this year. Anyway, many of you asked about my new year resolution so here goes.

1. Get in shape.

Expectation: Let's pump it!

Reality: Oh look! There's food!

Hahaha! I have no new year resolution because I am not committed. Did I forget to mention my talent?

Yeah man, that's it.

I never believed in resolutions. There is no such thing as finding the right time to kick start something. You would have already fulfilled them if you really wanted to.
